Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) are part of the Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ programme. It aims to encourage the mobility of students, staff, volunteers, youth workers, and young people. Organisations can arrange to send or receive students and staff to or from participating countries, as well as organise teaching, training, learning and volunteering activities.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJMs)

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) are programmes of excellence and should contribute to the integration and internationalisation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The specificity of EMJMs lies in the high degree of jointness/integration among the participating institutions and the excellence of their academic content.

EMJMs aim to enhance the attractiveness and excellence of European higher education in the world and attract talent to Europe, through a combination of:

  • institutional academic cooperation to showcase European excellence in higher education,
  • individual mobility for all students taking part in an EMJM, with EU-funded scholarships for the best applicants
The Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance the quality of higher education and promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through mobility and academic cooperation.

EMJMs are international study programmes delivered by a consortium of higher education institutions (HEIs) from different countries.

EMJMs aim to:

  • Foster excellence, innovation, and internationalisation in HEIs
  • Boost the attractiveness fo the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and support the EU's external action in the field of higher education
  • Improve the level of competences and skills of Master graduates and their employability

EU-CORE was selected in 2024 by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) as an EMJM for a 6-year duration.
